Facts
Imagine a world where smart technology doesn't just make life easier but reinvents our living spaces for sustainability and efficiency.

EDGE ElbSide Hamburg makes that a reality. Harnessing digital transformation and big data, EDGE ElbSide Hamburg employs exact monitoring and adaptive control systems to meticulously observe and modify the building’s functions to fit its users' needs in real-time. This allows the building to automatically respond to occupant behaviour and environmental factors to optimise resource use and improve user comfort.

EDGE ElbSide showcases Werner Sobek's renowned facade engineering, characterised with greenery incorporated into the building’s winter gardens and atriums.

As Germany's largest structure utilizing slim-floor construction, EDGE ElbSide cuts CO₂ emissions by nearly 50% compared to a regular concrete construction. The building is also set to feature a rooftop photovoltaic system, helping it achieve HafenCity Platinum and WELL Core & Shell Gold environmental certifications for sustainability.

How would you like to work in a building that puts your well-being first?

EDGE ElbSide Hamburg does so through its innovative design features. The office spaces are not conventional and isolated, but rather flexible and open, allowing for different modes of working and collaborating. The building is structured around a "main street" that connects the different floors and serves as a hub of communication and interaction. The winter gardens, facing outwards and spanning over several levels, provide lounge-like spaces that can be used throughout the year. They also act as buffer zones that regulate the building's temperature and ventilation and introduce natural elements such as light and plants. The energy concept of the building is based on modularity, flexibility, and environmental harmony, resulting in a high-quality and comfortable working environment.

Winter gardens

One of the distinctive features of EDGE ElbSide Hamburg is the integration of winter gardens into its facade. EDGE ElbSide Hamburg incorporates winter gardens acting as low-tech climate pockets between inside and outside, and serving both aesthetic and natural buffer functions.
