Stad Amsterdam in London Aftermovie

A look back on Stad Amsterdam in London
In September, we spent three days aboard the Clipper Stad Amsterdam, moored on the Thames overlooking Tower Bridge and just moments from EDGE London Bridge. The 76-metre sailing ship runs on wind whenever it can and carries an AI-powered camera that helps The Ocean Cleanup map plastic at sea, which made it a fitting setting for a programme about building better for a changing climate.
We organised the programme with the City of Amsterdam, Arcadis and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, bringing together partners from both sides of the North Sea. The aim was simple: better buildings come from collaboration across cities, sectors and borders, and the best ideas rarely start in a meeting room. With EDGE London Bridge on our doorstep, it was also a chance to show our London work up close.
The programme opened with a sustainability panel in collaboration with Bloomberg, moderated by Olivia Rudgard. Brett Ormrod (LaSalle Investment Management), Matt Webster (British Land), Matthew Brinklow (Mace) and our Head of Sustainability, Anja Kristina Köhler, discussed how to create confidence and value in a fast-changing landscape, covering the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, operational data, timber and new solutions for the built environment.
The days that followed included an afternoon session with Aéto on AI in the workplace, a private tour of EDGE London Bridge, and a dinner with Arcadis for sixty guests as the sun set over Tower Bridge. Our special thanks go to Howard Dawber OBE, Carolien Gehrels, Peter Hogg and Sune Blinkenberg for joining us.
