Edge returns to Rotterdam with EDGE Coolsingel

Edge proudly announces the start of construction of EDGE Coolsingel, marking a new chapter in its rich history of iconic Rotterdam projects. Following earlier successes such as the Maastoren, De Rotterdam, and Las Palmas, Edge continues its innovative vision in the city with EDGE Coolsingel. Edge has appointed De Vries en Verburg as the general contractor for the development’s construction.This decision was based on their proven track record and capacity to achieve ambitious sustainability standards, including WELL Platinum and BREEAM Excellent certifications.

Iconic and Sustainable Design in the Heart of Rotterdam

EDGE Coolsingel is located at Coolsingel 75, in the city center, accross the City Hall and former Post Office, and within walking distance of the central train station. EDGE Coolsingel comprises a total of 21,500 square meters across 11 floors; 15,200 square meters of office space, 5,500 square meters of co-working spaces, and 800 square meters of hospitality areas.

Designed by Rotterdam-based architectural firm NUDUS, EDGE Coolsingel's architecture responds to the urban rhythm of the Coolsingel. With playful folds in the facade, inspired by the work of J.J.P. Oud, it creates a dynamic building that constantly changes with the light. With EDGE Coolsingel, Edge aims to create a space where work and social interaction merge.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

EDGE Coolsingel plays a crucial role in making the urban landscape more sustainable. Through the integration of a thermal energy storage system and extensive use of PV panels, EDGE Coolsingel will primarily use locally generated energy, limiting operational energy consumption to 25 kWh/m²/year. This significantly exceeds the Paris Climate Agreement targets.

Largest Net Zero Carbon Office Building The project will be Rotterdam's largest Net Zero Carbon office building of this scale. Construction of EDGE Coolsingel has begun and is expected to be completed by August 1, 2026. Edge has appointed Made Real Estate and CBRE as exclusive leasing advisors for EDGE Coolsingel.
