CoreNet Global Summit 2026

This week, our colleagues Cees van der Spek and Martijn Pasman travelled to Chicago for the CoreNet Global Summit to join industry leaders in exploring what these shifts could mean for the future of corporate real estate.
Over the course of the Summit, Cees and Martijn caught up with Vicki Worden, CAE, CEO of CoreNet Global; Nicolaas Waaning, Global Head of Corporate Real Estate & Facilities at ING; and Katy Redmond, MCR, Senior Managing Director at JLL and CoreNet Global Board Member.
A conversation with Steve Wozniak
A highlight of the programme was hearing from Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs in 1976. A few of his lines stayed with the team:
“The smartest people in the world don’t lock doors.”
“Follow your heart when deciding what you want to do in life.”
“I do not fear AI, I fear the AI agents.”
Open doors, clear intent and a healthy respect for what technology can do. Not a bad brief for the future of the workplace either.
Looking ahead
The conversations in Chicago reinforced something we believe strongly: the future of real estate will not be shaped by any one technology, building or market. It will emerge from how these forces come together, and how we respond to them.
As we say, always moving forward.
